This quarter at TLS, we are hosting five (count them) student teachers – two from SCC (Southeast Community College), two from CU (Concordia University – Nebraska) and one from South Korea. For the second year, Trinity is hosting a KO*AM (Korean*American) Student Teacher. KO*AM is an educational agency that deliberately places students (from 4th – 12th grade) and now student teachers in Christian schools in America. Trinity Lutheran qualifies as a KO*AM member school as we are a S.E.V.I.S. (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) school which means we can have international students enrolled as well as international student teachers. Hyen Junghye (or Claire Hyen) is based in our 5th grade classroom, but she will be working in many of our classrooms. She is currently attending Hankook Kyowon University of Education in South Korea. This is not her first time outside of South Korea, nor is it her first time in America; but it is her first time to Nebraska. Claire is here to experience what life is like in an American school, which will help her as she prepares to become an early childhood teacher. My wife, Melanie & I are hosting her and we are learning as much from her as she is learning from us. Please introduce yourself to her when you see her at school or church. We pray God’s richest blessings upon her and her time with us. Next month … National Lutheran Schools Week schedule of activities … PARENT – TEACHER LEAGUE (PTL) MEETING SOS (Support Our School) Night |

Statement of Philosophy at East Campus Trinity Lutheran School provides a strong and stable Christ centered academic education. Trinity Lutheran exists to instill a cultural and religious heritage that is both Christian and Lutheran. Professional teachers and staff deliberately & systematically influence and guide young learners toward Christian maturity and a Christian life. While all instruction is consciously Christ-centered and Bible based and proclaims the relevancy of the Christian faith to time and situations, we strive to provide the highest quality academic experience, with particular emphasis in reading, writing, mathematics, science and social studies, all within a Christ-centered atmosphere. Trinity Lutheran School is committed to educating the whole child, both body and soul, and providing for the student's spiritual, moral, social, physical, emotional and intellectual growth. Our Teachers have been certified according to State of Nebraska Standards since 1918, and the current facility was dedicated in 1964. Trinity's Early Childhood Pre-School & Pre-Kindergarten Program was added in 1978, followed by the Extended School Day Before & After School Program in 1995. Our All-Day Summer Camp Program was added in 1997 and our Tender Hearts Toddler Program for 2 year olds was added in 2005. Our school was established in November of 1881 with the birth of Trinity Lutheran Church Congregation, initially with only two pupils. During the first ten years of the school's existence, 202 students graduated. For information: schoolinfo@trinitylcms-lincoln.com Phone: 402-466-1800 or Fax: 402-466-1820 |
